Evergreen House Construction Update

Over the past few weeks, there has been lots of work done to Evergreen House. (Sadly, with very little whistling à la a certain 1937 animated film.)

We wanted to keep you posted on the work being completed, in case you were curious.

The north side of the house is being re-shingled and the planks that you see in the first photo are the original planks from the 1860s! The floating door that was on the side of the house has been removed and replaced with a window. The door was installed when Helen Creighton resided at Evergreen and had divided the house into apartments. The roof is being re-shingled too.

We’ll keep you updated on the ongoing construction work.
