Summer Position: Virtual Content Technician

Virtual Content Technician – Dartmouth Heritage Museum (1 position)

English Fluent (French or other second language an asset)

The Dartmouth Heritage Museum Society collects, preserves, interprets, promotes, and makes accessible the cultural heritage of Dartmouth and vicinity. We operate the museum from two historic houses and from two different time periods (1785 & 1867). We also manage a large storage warehouse. In 2021, we are creating a new website and require an individual to work with us on virtual content; podcasts, exhibits and tours, and other virtual solutions.

The ideal candidate will be enrolled in an IT or associated program. They should have excellent research skills; attention to detail; good handwriting a cheerful personality; a good work ethic; ability to meet deadlines. The candidate should also be outgoing; knowledgeable about local history and enjoy working independently or in a team environment, have excellent interpersonal, communication and computer skills. Experience working in a museum setting is considered an asset. The candidate must be a returning student and supply documentation of enrollment for the fall of 2021 and be registered as a candidate with Young Canada Works (

Rate: $15/ hour, 35 hours/week.
