Cradles at the Cove: Sept 19th – Nov 4th Extended to January 20th, 2023
Our newest temporary exhibit at Evergreen House explores the rich and varied history of the marine slips along the Dartmouth cove. Come explore Dartmouth’s connection to the shipbuIlding industry.
Helen’s Birthday Tea: Sept 17th at 4PM-7PM
In honour of Folklorist Helen Creighton’s birthday (September 5th, 1899), DHM is hosting a birthday Tea, complete with scones, cake, sweet treats and, of course, tea. Enjoy while taking in the folksy live tunes from Blue Lobelia, Tyler Messick, and Eric Stephen Martin!
Halloween at Helen’s: Oct 28th at 4PM & 6PM
Begins with an afternoon pumpkin hunt and some creepy crafts perfect for little ghouls and goblins at 4PM. And in the evening, a coffee house, featuring some spooky storytelling for all the grown-up ghosties, starting at 6PM.
Folksy Fabrications: Nov 19th – Jan 20th Postponed to a later date
A new temporary exhibit exploring and showcasing some of the exciting, cultural, and homey folk art pieces from our collection. Learn about different styles and materials used by local artists in their creative endeavours.
Holiday Coffee House: Nov 24th 5PM-7PM
An evening made for singers and poets alike, join us in the gorgeous and historic evergreen house for an evening of music, poetry, light snacks, refreshing beverages, and good friends! RSVP as a guest by contacting the museum at [email protected] or by calling us at 902-464-2300! Interested performers (artists, musicians, poets, etc.) are asked to fill out this FORM
Holiday Crafts: December 9th 1PM-5PM
An afternoon of drop-in holiday crafting for kids (and their caregivers!) We’ll have supplies and a few ideas to help get started – just bring your imagination! Crafting will be downstairs at Evergreen House (26 Newcastle St).

Christkindl Market: December 4th 11AM-4PM
This year we have a table at Alderney Landing’s Christkindl Market! We will be selling some items from our gift shop, including our new 2023 Historic Dartmouth Calendars, soaps, candy sticks, tea cup candles, and books. Cash or E-Transfer for payments will be accepted. See more HERE.
