Explosion! Dartmouth’s Ordeal of the 1917 Disaster begins with a snapshot of the daily lives of people living in Dartmouth on the morning of December 6, 1917. The exhibit focuses on the cause of the Explosion and how Dartmouth residents worked together to rebuild their community. It includes oral histories from survivors, eyewitness accounts, and artifacts from affected homes and families. One of the artifacts featured is Frank Baker’s Diary, which has garnered much media attention. To learn how this wonderful artifact from Australia came to Dartmouth, please click here. Explosion!
